It is a continuation of the British No1's dreadful run of injury and illness and - given the Open is the final Grand Slam of the year - her season is in danger of petering out. This latest issue is a continuation of a theme - since she won the US Open Raducanu has rarely been able to stay fit for a sustained period. The five-star hotel has a picturesque clay tennis court - upon which, it appears, Raducanu was unable to do much more than serving off one leg. And her promising reunion with Andrew Richardson, the man who coached her to that miraculous Grand Slam title, is stuck in the starting blocks. As ever, Raducanu's talent and athletic ability mean she is still capable of great things if she can stay fit.
