A newlywed couple endured a nightmare start to their honeymoon after easyJet overbooked their flight leaving the groom stranded in Gatwick. On arriving at Gatwick's North Terminal, the pair were told easyJet had sold more tickets than there were seats available. They are then required, under air-passenger-rights rules, to offer volunteers the chance to take the later flight in return for financial compensation. A spokesperson for easyJet said: 'We are very sorry for Mr and Mrs Wedlake's experience and the difficulty this caused for their honeymoon. Mr Wedlake is entitled to £350 compensation for being blocked from the flight.
