A PROPOSED new health centre has reached an “important milestone”, bosses have said. A planning application has now been submitted for the long-awaited development on the former youth centre site in Burntwood. A spokesperson for the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) said:“The Burntwood Health Centre project has reached an important milestone with the submission of the planning application. “Local healthcare services are currently provided from Salters Meadow Health Centre, a temporary facility on the Burntwood Leisure Centre site and the Darwin branch practice in Chasetown. “Should planning permission be granted, the next stage will be to obtain competitive prices from building contractors for the construction of the health centre.”
