It's been a non-stop train of new developments in local television programming over the last month. It all started with the news that Channel 42 would no longer be the CBS affiliate for Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Even though Alabama's 42 no longer carries CBS programming, it is adding more local news and weather coverage. The CBS programming has shifted to WVTM-TV, which also carries NBC programming. CBS programming will be on their digital subchannel 13.4.
