A Princess Anne man has been arrested following an investigation in sexual abuse involving a juvenile female. Somerset County Sheriff’s Office officials received a report in mid-July alleging that 38 year old Travis Carpenter had sexually abused a juvenile. Officials learned that Carpenter left the state and on July 28th he was arrested in Accomack County, Virginia by the Accomack County Sheriff’s office on the Somerset County warrant. Carpenter waived extradition and was returned to Somerset County on July 30th and charged with multiple felony offenses:Solicitation of a minor3rd degree sex offense4th degree sex offense (sexual contact)2nd degree child abuseSexual abuse of a minorAdditional related chargesCarpenter was committed to the Somerset County Detention Center.
