Peter Howard Knowles, 62 of Newport, Rhode Island, died on July 26, 2026. Born in Newport, R.I. on February 21, 1964, he was the son of the late Dr. Richard and Colleen (O’Connell) Knowles. Peter is survived by his sister Ann Knowles, brothers Richard (Joseph Logue), and James (Jane) all of Newport, his nieces Gina LaChance and Caroline Knowles , and nephew Jimmy Knowles. Known as the Doctor or Doc, Peter worked at the Irish American Club for many years. After leaving the IA, Peter worked for many years for his sister Ann at her CPA firm, Knowles & Edge.
