Nagaland accounts for the largest portion, with 59,490.21 hectares under its occupation.
Arunachal Pradesh follows with 16,144.01 hectares, while Mizoram and Meghalaya hold 3,675.78 hectares and 3,441.86 hectares respectively.
The disclosure highlights the scale of Assam’s ongoing border disputes with its neighbouring states, an issue that has long been a source of tension in the region.
The figures presented in the assembly underscore the magnitude of the challenge in safeguarding Assam’s boundaries while maintaining relations with neighbouring states.
