4 August 2026 | Nadi, Fiji – Pacific education and climate change leaders are gathering this week for the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) “Supporting Access to Climate Finance Concept Note Development” Workshop to develop concept-ready proposals aimed at attracting climate investment to strengthen education systems in the Pacific. The Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative is supported by the Global Partnership for Education and implemented in partnership with Ministries of Education, Pacific Heads of Education Systems (PHES), UNESCO, UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) and Save the Children. The initiative supports Pacific countries to strengthen education system resilience, integrate climate considerations into education planning and improve access to climate finance. NotesThe Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) supports up to 14 Pacific countries to strengthen climate resilience, safety and continuity across education systems. The initiative is aligned with the Pacific Regional Education Framework (PacREF) and supports countries to access climate finance and develop climate-smart education policies and practices.
