PICKENS - A Barbour County woman is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly shooting another woman in the face during an altercation at Turkey Bone Road in Randolph County over the weekend. She is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond, set by Randolph County Magistrate Tracy M. Harper. The witness told police Simmons asked, "What are you going to do, shoot me?" Collette told police that she and Simmons were in a physical altercation, and that Simmons was "on top of her and punching her," and allegedly told Collette "I’m going to kill you," according to the complaint. Another witness told police that he witnessed Collette "shoot Amanda Simmons from a standing position after retrieving the firearm from her vehicle," the complaint states.
