The University of Macau (UM) has officially inaugurated five science and technology faculties – covering medicine, information technology, engineering, science, and design – as well as the Institute of Smart City Technologies and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Brain Sciences, which became operational on Aug. 1. The university also announced that it will offer new postgraduate degrees in medicinal food and nutritional sciences, law and technology, and applied law beginning in the 2027-28 academic year.
