Recorded executions in one week (July 28 to August 3) amount to at least 26 prisoners, though the actual number of executions is much higher. Today, Monday, August 3, the regime’s judiciary announced the executions of Omid Behzad and Pouria Safvat on charges of “espionage and intelligence cooperation with Israel.” On Saturday, August 1, six other prisoners were also executed: Baluch compatriots Mohammad Ali Narouei and Mohammad Bakhsh Shahbakhsh in Damghan; Farzad Feizi and Hasan Mousavi (30) in Shiraz; and Mohammad Davoudi and Esmail Aghaei in Semnan. Prior to this, Alijan Geravand was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison on Thursday, July 30. On Tuesday, July 28, in addition to the rebellious youths Abolfazl Sepahi and Amir Hossein Safari, four other prisoners were executed: Amir Ali Soleimani (31) and Mokhtar Alizadeh (29) in Isfahan; Ali Rasouli in Hamadan; and one prisoner in Ghezel Hesar.
