Introduced during Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen's celebrated Legion era, Infinite Man is a living temporal anomaly whose unbreakable connection to time itself makes him extraordinarily difficult to defeat through ordinary means. Battles with Infinite Man are puzzles more than they are traditional battles, as the Legion need to devise elaborate scientific and temporal solutions instead of relying on brute force. Superman follows suit in Superman 2026 Annual: Year One Thousand, where he dives into the time stream instead of fighting Infinite Man.
