— Just a few months into retirement and a longtime township employee will be returning to fill a temporary opening in the treasurer’s department. At its Monday, Sept. 8 regular meeting, the Davison Township Board of Trustees voted 4-1 to contract retired township employee Lois Pastori to return for a few months while another employee is off on maternity leave. Trustee Matt Karr asked why Howell was picking a start date, not knowing when the employee would actually be leaving for maternity leave. Howell said that not knowing when she’ll leave he wanted Pastori in place so if the employee goes on maternity leave early the treasurer’s department will be ready. Howell said he was flexible with what the board wanted to do and the motion was made to hire Pastori as a contract employee with an effective start date beginning when the employee begins maternity leave.
