Kyrgyzstan expands trade with Germany on stronger imports
[]
Trend – News from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Turkey.
Kyrgyzstan increased its trade turnover with Germany by 36.7% year-on-year in the first five months of 2026, reaching $105.1 million.
Germany accounted for 1.7% of Kyrgyzstan's total foreign trade turnover during the reporting period.
Meanwhile, imports from Germany surged by 38.2% to $103.14 million, compared to $74.66 million in January–May 2025.
As imports continued to significantly exceed exports, Kyrgyzstan recorded a trade deficit with Germany of $101.23 million during the reporting period.
The widening gap between imports and exports underscores Germany's role primarily as a supplier of goods to Kyrgyzstan, contributing to a significantly larger bilateral trade deficit despite the strong increase in overall trade turnover.
