Faisalabad has introduced its first public-sector electric bike battery swapping station, a pilot project aimed at promoting cleaner and more sustainable transport in the city. The facility was inaugurated by Commissioner Faisalabad Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh. It allows registered users to exchange a depleted e-bike battery for a fully charged one instead of waiting for the battery to recharge, according to the district administration. The pilot phase includes two battery swapping cabinets, 24 charging slots and five electric bikes for riders, the commissioner told reporters. He said the administration plans to install 50 battery swapping cabinets across Faisalabad by December 2026.
