After a week of previews and soft-opening activities St. Joseph’s newly restored ‘Historic Library Hotel’ is officially open. The upscale boutique five room hotel is taking reservations for hotel stays and welcoming locals to its unique downstairs speakesy bar, The Archive Lounge, which is open 4-9 pm daily. The project’s completion is a dream realized for Chicago real estate veteran Shannon Kutchek and her husband John Kenna. After years of restoration, countless late nights, and thousands of decisions, we’re incredibly excited to share that the Historic Library Hotel is officially open. What was once a 120-year-old Carnegie library has been thoughtfully restored into a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel, preserving the history and character that made this building so special while creating a place for new memories to be made.
