The Queensland Government has released a new strategy aimed at expanding the state’s critical minerals sector through increased extraction, processing and exports. The plan, Delivering Queensland’s Critical Minerals Future 2026-30, outlines the government’s vision to position Queensland as a supplier of critical minerals for global markets and strengthen supply chain resilience. According to the government, the strategy focuses on growing processing and refining capabilities, attracting investment and building sovereign capability across the critical minerals value chain. The announcement follows a $146 million commitment in the Queensland Budget to support critical minerals projects and accelerate development of the sector. “We have the resources, industrial capability, energy and importantly, the will to deliver critical minerals to the world and get this done.”
