Aiden McGeady has admitted he thought Celtic should have made a move for Dan Neil before the midfielder joined Rangers. McGeady knows Neil well from their time together at the Stadium of Light and believes Celtic should have considered signing him. “Before he went to Rangers, I was thinking ‘Celtic could look at him’.” McGeady played alongside Neil during the midfielder’s rise into Sunderland’s senior side and their successful push for promotion from League One. Neil eventually chose Rangers, a move which surprised McGeady.
