From 1990 onwards till date, the department has registered numerous offence reports running into several lakhs involving seizure of IMFL, illicit liquor, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, reflecting its unwavering commitment to upholding the law, it added.
On an average, not less than 13-15 cases are detected every single working day, translating to over 4,000-5,000 cases annually, which clearly demonstrates that enforcement has been continuous, proactive and intelligence-driven, rather than sporadic, the release said.
It also sought public support to further enhance its effectiveness and urged anyone with credible information to contact the Joint Commissioner of Excise (Narcotic Cell) at 9436077829, the Superintendent (Narcotic Cell) at 9862658448, the office at 6909316927, or via email at jceexcise.nc-ngl@gov.in.
