MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN — The City of Mérida has invested 11 million pesos in the rehabilitation and construction of public recreational infrastructure in the neighborhoods of Ciudad Caucel and Francisco de Montejo. In Francisco de Montejo III, the municipality allocated nearly 4.9 million pesos to comprehensively overhaul Los Naranjos Park. Meanwhile, in Ciudad Caucel II, the city directed more than 6.1 million pesos toward constructing the new Lomas II Park. These initiatives form part of “Mérida Enchula,” a broader municipal strategy investing 350 million pesos to modernize over 800 public spaces across the capital. Looking ahead, Carlos Carrillo Paredes, Secretary of Citizen Participation, noted that over 90 million pesos will be designated under the upcoming “Diseña tu Ciudad 2026” scheme to continue upgrading neighborhood infrastructure.
