Rameswaram: The Hindu Munnani and Hindu Makkal Katchi have demanded action against the women who danced in the world-famous third prakaram of the Rameswaram Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy temple and released it as reels.
Thousands of devotees come to the Ramanathaswamy temple, which has the triple honour of being a place of worship, for a holy dip and for darshan of the Lord.
Even though it is prohibited to carry cellphones and cameras inside the temple, it has now become a habit to take videos of the Lord’s sanctum and upload them on websites.
In this regard, two women recently danced to a film song in the world-famous third prakaram and posted it as a reel, causing great unrest among devotees.
The Hindu Munnani and Hindu Makkal Katchi have strongly opposed this and have appealed to the temple administration to take strict action to protect the sanctity of the temple by not converting the place of worship into a commercial space.
