Multiple WhatsApp users reported on Monday that their accounts were unexpectedly placed “under review” for up to 24 hours, temporarily preventing them from accessing the messaging platform and its features. According to users, the issue surfaced around 8:00 pm, with many receiving a notification stating that their accounts were being reviewed. During this period, affected users were unable to send or receive messages, make calls, or use other WhatsApp services. The reports primarily emerged from India, though it remains unclear whether users in other countries were also affected. Users whose accounts have been placed under review are advised to wait for the review period to end and avoid repeatedly attempting to verify or switch accounts until WhatsApp provides further guidance.
