The latest chapter in his quest to revamp Washington, D.C.’s landmarks—from the White House to the Kennedy Center and beyond— includes sheathing four existing statues in 23K gold leaf. The first to emerge from the regilding project was a pair of statues, depicting horses and nude figures, called Valor and Sacrifice—part of The Arts of War. Trump announced that the statues, which flank the entrance to the Arlington Memorial Bridge, were now visible in a July 27 post on Truth Social. A notice on the National Park Service website says the area surrounding the works will remain closed until September 30.
