Fruitland Police Department to Unveil New DronesFRUITLAND, Md.– The Fruitland Police Department will debut it’s new drone program during the city’s National Night Out event, giving residents an up-close look at how technology is being used to enhance public safety. Department officials say the demonstration is designed to show how drones can quickly provide aerial views during emergencies, allowing first responders to assess situations faster and make more informed decisions. The department also hopes the demonstration will give the public a better understanding of how the drones are operated and the safeguards in place to protect privacy. “Our whole goal is transparency, so that nobody thinks we’re doing anything nefarious with our drones,” Detective Jonathan Marton-Rollins said. Police officials encourage people to attend, ask questions, and learn more about about how the department is using technology to support emergency response while maintaining transparency with the community.
