Ghost in the machine
['Riaz Missen']
Pakistan Observer
WHEN Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi declared that Pakistan’s system has collapsed, he offered more than a diagnosis.
Pakistan’s administrative and political architecture was never primarily organized around human dignity.
That inheritance remains the ghost in the machine.
Human dignity is a design standard, not sentiment.
Incomplete because rearranging boundaries or securing elite consensus will not, by itself, reorient the system toward human dignity.
