MINOT — Fargo Mayor Josh Boschee has officially resigned from the state Senate, where he's served since 2024 after a tenure in the state House that began in 2013.
"Please accept this letter as my formal resignation as state Senator for District 44, effective August 4, 2026," Boschee wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader David Hogue.
"With the convening of a special legislative session, I have moved up my timeline to ensure District 44 can appoint a replacement in time to have a new Senator in place to prepare for and participate in the special session."
As he indicated in his letter to Hogue, the special session of the Legislature just announced by Gov.
With the special session looming on Sept. 2, expect District 44 Democrats to move swiftly so their seat in Bismarck isn't left empty when lawmakers gavel in.
