Tornado hits Indianapolis; Indiana records 81st in record yearINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes on Saturday in Indiana, including a touchdown south of downtown Indianapolis, that pushed the state’s yearly total to a record 81. The storm damaged the siding of two houses and pushed a truck trailer into a parked truck. It then moved north-northeast, flattening crops and snapping several large trees near Legion Road. As it crossed Trackville Road, the tornado damaged garage doors before strengthening in southeast Franklin County. There, the storm damaged the roofs of houses and the walls of several barns.
