The curatorial team for the 2027 Bogotá Biennial (BOG27) has just been announced. Following the first edition in 2025, the upcoming edition of the biennal will be led by Juan Ricardo Rincón Gaviria as director, supported by chief curators Magalí Arriola and José Esparza Chong Cuy. Gaviria has been the director of the Bogotá International Art and City Biennial since 2025. Additionally, he is the chief curator of Voltaje Salón de Arte y Tecnología, an annual salon that’s been held since 2014. The previous edition of the Bogotá Biennale, “Bogotá: Essays on Happiness,” ran from September 20th to November 9th of 2025; the biennial featured more than 200 artists from 12 countries.
