(ABC 6 News) — New developments have come from the northern Minnesota wildfires as crews continue gaining ground and control of the fires. The largest, the Bear Trap Fire, is now 40% contained, according to official, while the Thumb Fire is at 57% containment. More Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness entry points will reopen on Tuesday with additional western entry points reopening on Wednesday. Four entry points will remain closed through September, and officials advise visitors check conditions before traveling.
