(KSTP)–A Minnesota Republican leader is asking the state to clarify who meets residency rules to run for office as questions surround Mike Lindell.
In a letter obtained by 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, Republican Party Chairman Alex Plechash asked the Minnesota Secretary of State to clarify residency requirements for candidates.
Plechash wrote that his request was tied to public questions about the eligibility of Lindell, the party’s leading gubernatorial candidate.
Plechash said his “request is prompted by serious questions that have been raised publicly regarding the eligibility of gubernatorial candidate Michael Lindell.”
The questions center on Lindell’s previous residency in Texas and how long he has been a resident of Minnesota.
