WestJet and the union representing cabin crew staff have reached a tentative agreement bringing the current strike action to an end. The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 8125 said the deal was reached “after strike action helped bring the parties to a resolution”. WestJet cabin crew went on strike on August 2, 2026, citing unpaid work as a “big piece of our priorities”. Under that agreement, WestJet cabin wages were set to rise 13% in October 2026, and then by 2.5% each year up to and including 2029.
