“Many of these properties are owned by the MoD for service personnel and their families, and it's important that those needs are met. Residential military property in West Fife mainly centres around the Royal Navy’s site at Rosyth Dockyard, and comes under the jurisdiction of Fife Council. “I’m pleased that Fife Council has since confirmed that discussions are now taking place with the MoD about Service family accommodation in both Rosyth and Leuchars. Fife Council's service manager for housing access, Gavin Smith confirmed that talks about the government department’s property are taking place. However, there are currently no plans to bring MoD properties into general housing use.”
