Family owned Phillipe's Bakery in Sackville Street, beat off fierce competition from 200 businesses, including 50 finalists, to be presented with the award for 'Best Bakery' at the England's Business Awards regional ceremony, held at the Queens Hotel, Leeds. Phillipe's, which uses traditional, old-style recipes, has a loyal following of customers who can't get enough of its signature steak pies and Yorkshire teacakes.
