The “amazing” 1969 nude scene that left Quentin Tarantino’s jaw on the floor: “I was shocked”Despite being renowned for the violence and profanity that have defined his filmography, Quentin Tarantino is an almost entirely sexless auteur, having never been a fan of gratuitous nudity or sensual love scenes.
Apart from his obvious proclivities, though, the two-time Academy Award-winning screenwriter has never been a fan of writing sex into his scripts.
“Do you think there is any other director that Allan Bates and Oliver Reed are going to have the naked wrestling match before the fire?”
Tarantino asked, knowing the answer, calling it “one of the most amazing sequences ever filmed.”
Or, as the Reservoir Dogs creator posited, “If you’re an actor, and you’re going to do a Ken Russell movie, you want him to ask you to do something weird.”
