Staff from the Elgin branch of Asda have shown their support for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service by donating two large pallets of bottled water. Asda contacted Elgin fire station to coordinate the donation of two large pallets of bottled water to help keep fire crews and dedicated volunteers hydrated during their operations. The gift comes in response to the wildfire which broke out in the Cairngorms on July 15 between Nethy Bridge and Glenmore. It also follows the devastating blaze in June last year which became the largest wildfire ever recorded in Scotland, scorching over 11,800 hectares of the Dava Moor. The support was particularly meaningful for Sylvia Fraser, the store’s community champion, who witnessed the impact of last year's wildfires.
