Russian dictator Vladimir Putin no longer holds the initiative in the war against Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Fox News during last week’s visit to the United States. Kyiv’s European partners must therefore seize the moment and demonstrate that they are capable of acting decisively on the international stage by increasing support for Ukraine. Since the start of the current year, there have been growing indications that the initiative has passed from Russia to Ukraine. Europe clearly has much to offer Ukraine, but Ukraine also has much to offer Europe. Integrating these capabilities into Ukraine’s military recovery system would strengthen the long-term resilience of the country just as surely as ammunition or equipment supplies.
