By LISA MARIAHBOOLARRA’S Centennial Park rang with the haunting overtones of Kate Bush, as people from far and wide gathered, arms raised and dressed in red, to dance to Wuthering Heights. The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is a global phenomenon run in towns and cities worldwide since 2016, in recent years including events across Gippsland. Jules sought assistance from local dancer and choreographer Gilbert Douglas to adapt the choreography from the original Wuthering Heights film clip and online tutorials. Dancers of all genders took part, wearing red dresses already owned, found in op shop trawls, or borrowed from others. “The guys looked particularly dashing in their red dresses and kimonos,” a participant commented afterwards.
