Midweek Herald | News
Fire crews from Wellington Fire Station were called to the southbound carriageway near Junction 27 after a vehicle caught fire.
Two fire engines from Wellington attended the incident, with Tiverton Fire Station called to provide additional water supplies after the response was increased to three fire engines.
Firefighters said their actions prevented the fire from spreading into standing crops, a cattle field and nearby electrical installations.
Following the incident, Wellington Fire Station thanked motorists delayed by the emergency response for their patience.
One of the vehicle's occupants, Amy Turner, also thanked the emergency services in a message shared on social media.
