Hundreds flock to Honiton as centuries-old Hot Pennies tradition lives on

A procession then made its way through the town as pennies were thrown to waiting children.
Paul Carter, chair of the Honiton Hot Pennies Ceremony Committee, said he was once again amazed by the support for the event.
Paul said traditions such as Hot Pennies remained important as communities changed.
"Hot Pennies has been a big thing in Honiton for 800 years, so we need to keep it going."
You know, hot pennies being thrown at poor children, but it's good to remember the past.
