Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 5.35 pm on Sunday to a fire involving logs, hedgerow, and corn stubble in the field off the minor road leading down to Weir Beach. The entrance to the field was close to the Ukrainian memorial and a nearby log supply business. The fire was said to involve burning logs, corn stubble, and the bordering hedge. The incident prompted an assistance message for additional resources, including five appliances and a water carrier, as crews worked to bring the fire under control.
