Moments later, she looked up and saw Mr Roskilly in the carriageway near the central barrier, shortly before the collision, which she said happened within a second. In his conclusion, the coroner, Mr Guy Davie, said Mr Roskilly died from traumatic injuries sustained when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross the A30. The coroner accepted evidence that the driver had no opportunity to take avoiding action and struck Mr Roskilly almost immediately after seeing him.
