According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Cubs have acquired star pitcher Clay Holmes and outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the New York Mets in exchange for prospect Jefferson Rojas. Holmes was among the top trade candidate pitchers leading up to the deadline and had several teams linked to him. This is after he had a 12-8 record and a 3.53 ERA in 33 appearances for the Mets last season. In 67 games this season with the Mets before the trade, he had 10 home runs, 28 RBI, and a .241 batting average. He will now improve the Cubs' outfield depth as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
