Snohomish County Public Works is seeking public input on plans to close a critical gap in the Interurban Trail near Lynnwood through an online open house running from Aug. 3 through Sept. 30. The study focuses on the section of the Interurban Trail along Maple Road between Ash Way and Butternut Road, where trail users currently must navigate around Interstate 5 to travel between the Lynnwood city limits, the Lynnwood Transit Center and communities west of the freeway. County officials are seeking feedback on potential improvements to enhance connectivity for bicyclists, pedestrians and other trail users. Public feedback will help shape the Interurban Trail/Maple Road Overcrossing at Interstate 5 Improvements study, which was announced in July. The planning study is funded through the Sandy Williams Connecting Communities Program, supported by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act.
