Mad In America
My mind is shattered from this new therapyMy raging backlash is like lightning dischargingWhat hasn’t happened: getting my old self backWhat really matters is my spirit stays intactI’ve gotten very closeto fully losing itBut I never will fullychoose to submitMenacing meds have failed mefor the last damn timeMenacing meds that I tookwith no good reason whyBut it’s over overthere will not be a surrenderingMenacing meds a trick bagThat I am severingThese drugs are dangerous, not to be tampered withYour life will tremble if you get the worst of itEven if these doctors think they’ve done no harmI must transition – relinquishing the stormMenacing meds I will notabide the tortured criesMenacing meds there’s no wayyou’ll keep me terrorizedHonestly someone someoneshould make it right and apologizeMenacing meds we are doneYou’ll no longer cauterize***From the perspective of a frustrated patient with mounting side effects from their prescribed pharmaceuticals.
The patient’s voice DOES matter and can assert to put their future well-being in their own hands (and not a meddling pdoc’s).
