Massive Attack have spoken out after being banned from performing Singapore for flying a Palestinian flag during their recent show there.
Singapore has strict laws on public speech and assembly, and displaying any foreign flag, national emblem or banner, is completely prohibited with out a permit.
It added that both Del Naja and Marshall had been issued “stern warnings” for allegedly breaching the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) Act and the Public Order Act.
This also isn’t the first time their support for Palestine has attracted the attention of the authorities.
In April, Robert Del Naja was among 523 people arrested during a Palestine Action protest in London’s Trafalgar Square.
