Aden – The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced it has supported close to 400,000 people in Yemen with life‑saving reproductive health, protection, and emergency relief services during the first six months of 2026. The agency stressed that women and girls bear the brunt of the crisis, with 10.95 million requiring urgent support nearly half of the 22.3 million people in need of aid this year. Millions face severe risks to their health and safety, with limited access to essential services, including maternal care, reproductive health, and social protection. UNFPA reported receiving only $12.8 million, representing 12.8% of its $71.9 million appeal, leaving a gap of $59.1 million. The agency warned that without additional resources, vital programs could be cut, threatening the delivery of life‑saving services to women and girls across Yemen.
