Systemic pressure is baked into the culture long before any specific aircraft goes AOG, and it’s often the hardest to see from inside the organization. The maintenance crew wasn’t informed of incoming radio calls or updates about how long patients had been waiting or how many flight requests were coming in, keeping them from feeling that pressure. The mechanic was still responsible for updating their manager, but at set intervals, not in response to pressure. If your mechanics are feeling pressure, look honestly at what you built and ask yourself why it exists.
