Following the record-breaking opening of the latest Spider-Man movie, many fans expected Sony to reveal new plans for its universe of Marvel characters. Instead, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman offered a much more cautious update, suggesting there are currently no new spin-off projects moving ahead. Speaking with Variety after the massive launch of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ Rothman was asked about the future of Sony’s Marvel character movies. Although the future of the spin-off movies remains uncertain, Rothman sounded much more optimistic about Spider-Man himself. Should Sony continue making Spider-Man spin-off movies?
