YORK, N.Y. — A 42-year-old man is facing charges after Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies say he intentionally set his home on fire. Deputies say it happened on July 29 at around 10 p.m. on Barefoot Lane in the Town of York. They say while first responders were on the way, the owner, Matthew McCracken, was seen leaving the area and fleeing into a nearby wooded area. When deputies got there, they say fire investigators determined the fire to be suspicious in nature. He was remanded to the custody of the sheriff without the possibility of bail due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.
