The Pirates announced that right-hander Mitch Keller has been placed on the 60-day injured list due to a right arm teres major muscle injury. Left-hander Brandon Eisert has been recalled to take his place on the active roster. Keller wasn’t having his best season, with a 5.29 earned run average over 22 starts, but his underlying numbers suggested positive regression may have been coming. Though Keller wasn’t in top form, the Bucs probably don’t want to be losing him for the final two months of the season. The Pirates are 3.5 games back of a playoff spot and trying to make a push.
